Safeguarding and Child Protection

Walmley Junior School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) with responsibility for Child Protection is Mrs Karen Conway (in her absence the Deputy DSLs are Mrs Sue Smith, Mr Stuart Pearson or Mr Daniel Ware). We recognise that some children may be the victims of neglect, physical, sexual or emotional abuse and all staff are well placed to identify such abuse and respond quickly and effectively. If you do have a concern about a child’s well-being, please report this to Mrs Conway, Mrs Smith, Mr Pearson or Mr Ware; any member of staff as an initial point of contact. Alternatively, you may ring Children’s Advice & Support Service directly on 0121 303 1888.
