Uniform

With the overwhelming support of parents, we encourage the wearing of school uniform. We believe that the wearing of the uniform allows pupils to develop a sense of belonging and encourages pride in our school. We are aware that there may be cheaper alternatives to our official uniform but would advise parents to adhere to the colour code.

GIRLS:

Girls’ Uniform
  • White long sleeved shirt and school tie (no other colours or polo shirts are permitted).
  • Knitted Navy cardigan, V neck jumper (with logo).
  • Navy skirt (not black or grey).
  • Tailored, navy school trousers.
  • Pale blue and white small checked dress (Summer Term only). No half white/half checked dresses permitted.
  • White socks.
  • Flat, black, leather look shoes. Trainers with coloured logos are not part of school uniform and are worn only in Physical Education lessons.
  • We discourage the wearing of fine mesh tights, but girls are permitted to wear navy 60/80 denier tights in inclement weather.
  • No nail varnish or make-up.
  • Hair accessories should be small and in school colours.

BOYS:

Boys’ Uniform
  • White long sleeved shirt and school tie (no other colours or polo shirts are permitted).
  • White short sleeved shirt and school tie (Summer Term).
  • Navy V neck jumper (with Logo).
  • Grey short or long trousers.
  • Grey socks.
  • Black, leather look shoes. Trainers with coloured logos are not part of school uniform and are worn only in P.E. lessons.

All school uniform is available from Clive Marks (11-13 Boldmere Road) and Uniform Hub (Tracey Hockley, 0121 313 2414, www.uniform-hub.com)

Pumps in a pump bag (labelled with name) will be required for some forms of P.E., also a white T-shirt with school logo and navy shorts. Trainers will also be needed for outdoor games and a track suit (navy blue) for colder weather. To avoid unnecessary damage to expensive clothing, please equip your child with an old shirt, adapted and worn back to front – this proves to be an excellent overall for art and practical activities.

Please make sure that all of your child’s uniform is clearly labelled with his/her name.

The only jewellery items to be worn in school are a watch or a pair of stud earrings or any items of religious significance. Jewellery is not permitted during P.E. and Games lessons and pupils will be asked to remove it. In some circumstances newly pierced ears may have surgical tape applied.

If your child has outgrown items of uniform and they are still in very good condition, please consider donating them (freshly washed) to school. We offer a termly uniform sale where all items can be bought for £1! Please enquire at the school office about second hand uniform.
