What do we learn?

In Year 4, we have many opportunities to learn and experience something new. We study habitats and food chains in Science as well as Sound, Health and Fitness. Throughout the year, we learn how to use Microsoft Word and PowerPoint to present information in Computing, linking these to our R.E and History topics. Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece are investigated in History, including everyday life for the people who lived in these places and key historical events. In English, we study a range of genres from stories set in imaginary worlds, explanation texts and information leaflets. Taking home our Rights Respecting bear is a real treat and children love spending time with him and learning about the rights they have as a child.

Exciting Trips!

In Year 4, we embark on a thrilling trip to Whitemoor Lakes, which is a three day/ two-night residential trip, allowing children to have new experiences, challenge themselves and work as part of a team. Children take on a speedy zipwire, a tall climbing wall and fun obstacles courses to name but a few! Taking a trip to Coventry and visiting the Cathedral along with the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum is a highlight of our year. We love learning about the history of the building and looking at the difference between old and new. Finally, children learn about other cultures and take a trip to the Balaji temple in Tividale. We are always proud of how respectful our children are when visiting other places of worship.
